ASOBAL will celebrate the II ASOBAL Inclusive Handball Day next Sunday, May 31 in Cuenca, a free and open-to-the-public event that focuses on inclusion and the social impact of professional handball.
The initiative will take place at the El Sargal Sports Hall, home of REBI Balonmano Cuenca, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and will bring together various teams linked to the ASOBAL ecosystem ahead of the match corresponding to Matchday 30 of the NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL League between REBI Balonmano Cuenca and IRUDEK Bidasoa Irun (6:00 p.m.).
Organized together with REBI Balonmano Cuenca, the project continues the initiative launched in Aranda de Duero last November and is part of ASOBAL’s roadmap to promote social initiatives within its competitive ecosystem. This development is part of the ASOBAL Legacy League (ALL), the professional competition’s identity focused on the evolution of handball beyond sporting performance, with an emphasis on sustainability and legacy alongside the clubs.
The day serves as a prelude to the launch of future structured inclusive days that ASOBAL and its clubs plan to develop next season.
The format will be adapted, with non-competitive friendly matches aimed at encouraging participation, coexistence, and shared experience among athletes, coaches, and attendees. In this second edition, inclusive teams linked to four clubs from the NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL League will participate: Aspadec Ciudad Encantada, SANICENTRO BM Guadalajara, Titanes Caserío Ciudad Real, and Recoletas At. Valladolid IncluSPORT.
The initiative is carried out in collaboration with REBI Balonmano Cuenca and the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha, within the framework of ASOBAL and its clubs’ commitment to promoting projects that strengthen handball and consolidate the sport as a tool for social impact and community connection.
