REBI Balonmano Cuenca has returned to work this week and is already training on the court at El Sargal, preparing over the next few weeks for a new edition of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL. Renewed energy and with the same ambition, Lidio Jiménez's team will alternate sessions focused on physical aspects and ball training, aiming to recover the automatisms of the game.
The big novelty at the start of the season has been the presence of the three new signings, already in shorts: Miguel Pinto, Jan Blas, and Gábor Décsi. The former goalkeeper of Bada Huesca has been the last to join the project of the Cuenca club with a contract for the first half of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL 26/27. Décsi will replace Pedro Tonicher during this stretch of professional competition, who will be out for a few months due to injury.
The team will crown its work on the court with six friendly matches to reach a first peak of form for the debut in Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL against Recoletas Salud At. Valladolid (September 12/13). Their first commitment will be on August 7 at the Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto court, before playing their first minutes at El Sargal on August 13 against Cajasol Ángel Ximénez Puente Genil. Just one day later, on August 14, REBI Balonmano Cuenca will face Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto again, this time in front of their fans, key to the overall performance of the team during the ASOBAL season.
Lidio Jiménez's team will participate between August 17 and 22 in the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha Tournament, a usual summer event that will serve to continue adding minutes of competition before the league starts. Preparation will continue on August 26 with the San Julián Tournament, which will pair REBI Balonmano Cuenca and Cajasol Sevilla BM. Proin. The last two friendlies of the Cuenca preseason will be on August 29 against HORNEO BM. Alicante and against Balonmano Zaragoza on September 4.
